It’s time for a ME-Time Marathon! This is (of course) easier said than done. But if you’re looking for a little escapism and in need of some down time, we’ve got the perfect list for you. Get ready and get hooked on these binge-worthy series!

 

 

Firefly Lane (Netflix)

This is a touching series that follows the friendship of two women who have been neighbours since they were 14. Now in their 40s, the bond between Kate and Tully continues through the ups and downs of life. Over the course of a 30-year friendship, A LOT of drama ensues. But there is so much relatability in the way we hold our loved ones close and navigate the paths we choose. You’ll need to get your tissues ready for this one!

 

Workin’ Moms (Netflix)

Probably the most relatable watch, this show follows four very different working mothers as they try to juggle their friendships, careers, family lives, and ultimately their sense of self. Full of quirky humour and the struggles of trying to do it all, this show makes us feel a little less alone.

 

Colin From Accounts (BBC Two)

A comedy series that shares the story of Ashley and Gordon. Two complex characters who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog. This Australian sitcom starts with an unconventional ‘meet-cute’, but builds on a relationship that showcases the ways we deal with what life throws at us.

If you’re looking for a drama that’s peppered with comedy, this one is for you. It tells the story of two strangers who get into a road rage incident and the chaos that follows into their lives after. This show may not be for everyone, but it’s definitely worth a try. The depth of these characters comes with a slight darkness that comes from re-assessing your entire life.

 

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (Netflix)

Whether or not you’re a Bridgerton fan, this limited series is a must watch! Shonda Rimes gives us a look at the young Queen Charlotte’s marriage to King George of England. There’s nothing quite like a well done period piece. This starts as the classic fish-out-of-water story, where a young princess arrives in a foreign land to marry. But the romance that blossoms is unlike any other. It’s untraditional, complex, and  transforms high society.

 

The Night Agent (Netflix)

Netflix’s newest political thriller is a must watch! The show is based off of the novel by Matthew Quirk. It shares the story of an FBI agent who gets caught in a deadly conspiracy involving a mole in the White House.

 

Ted Lasso (AppleTV)

Who doesn’t love Ted Lasso? The show is beautifully written, truly tender, and hilarious! Ted Lasso is an American football coach who is hired to manage a British soccer team. He shows a real lack of knowledge, and culture shock, but his unwavering optimism is the heart of the team!

 

Killing Eve (Netflix)

The first episode hooks you in right away. Eve works for an intelligence agency where her mission is to kill the assassin, Villanelle. The hunter suddenly becomes the hunted, as the two women develop a lethal obsession for one another.
